Ghost stories of New York City's Manhattan Chinatown

Chinatown New York City (Manhattan), has a long history of Chinese immigrants. Beginning in the late 1800's, Chinese laborers and merchants began emigrating to New York City for the opportunity that the city provided. Early on, they faced descriminatory laws geared towards keeping Chinese people out of the United States.

My grandfather first arrived in Chinatown from Guangdong, China sometime around 1919 or 1920. With successive generations living there, I've been able to pick up many ghost stories from the area:

Someone in the cellar

To be weighed down by a ghost

The phantom clapper

The Music Palace Theater
