Bloody Mary

There seems to be many versions to this story. No doubt, this has been changed by millions of kids trying to scare they're friends or siblings!

Of course I don't believe it, but the version I heard was about a murder in the '70's involving a girl named Mary. She was supposed to have been married the next day and was trying on her wedding gown.

Suddenly, someone who has broken into her home came up to Mary and stabbed her numerous times.

"Common kids' folklore" states that if you stand in front of a mirror (a bathroom one, or a hand-held) at midnight, if you say "Bloody Mary, Bloody, Mary, Bloody Mary......." you'll see the bloody face of Mary herself!

Sound pretty stupid, eh?

Actually, one of my friends has a pretty weird story about that.

At the time, all of them were in high school and were hanging out in one of their buddy's house. Apparently, they had "smoked up" and were just hanging out trying to scare each other.

It was around midnight, so inevitably, they started talking about the whole "Bloody Mary" thing.

Piling into the small bathroom downstairs, they closed the door and one of them started saying "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary......." at the stroke of midnight.

(My friend was there to witness it, so this is pretty interesting.) All of the sudden, one of his friends screams and runs out of the bathroom. Scared out of their wits, the rest of them scramble out as well.

When they asked the first guy why he ran out, he kept saying that he saw a lady's face in the mirror. When he said this, everyone laughed and didn't believe him because he had "smoked up" earlier and was pretty out of his mind. (This is still the general consensus!)

Still, when my friend was telling me about this incident (which happened years ago) he still mentions that the room became undeniable cold right before his friend ran out of the room. He said he felt the room became very cold in spite of how they knew the first guy was just tripping.
